Spain celebrates National Day
Today, Spain celebrated their National Day with a traditional military parade which ran from the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V and the Plaza de Colón and involved more than 3,000 troops, 147 vehicles and 55 fighter jets of the Armed Forces. This parade was followed by a reception at the Royal Palace, where this awkward family photo was taken.

The US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, congratulated Spain on their work toward global peace, stating, "as you celebrate National Day, know that the United States is a committed partner and friend. I look forward to strengthening this relationship even more as we work toward a brighter future for all our people."
