Norwegian King and Queen visit America
Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway have embarked on their official visit to the United States of America. Their Majesties will travel the United States for 12 days – the visit will include a high profile set of engagements in New York City and other public duties in the American Midwest.
Engagements in aid and in relation to the Norwegian-American communities and institutions will feature quite prominently in this official visit.
While in New York City, the King and Queen will be amongst guests celebrating the 100th anniversary of the American Scandinavian Foundation; Their Majesties will also visit Ground Zero. They will also while in the City attend the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce's Trade and Achievement Award Luncheon.
The King and Queen are also set to visit the Museum of Modern Art.
While in the American-Midwest, the royal couple will carry out several engagements in relation to the Norwegian People's Aid. A visit to the St. Olaf College in Northfield is also scheduled.
Official entertaining will take place at the residence of Governor Mark Dayton of Minnesota, with the official banquet being hosted by the Norwegian Ambassador.
