Richard Kay says that 'friends' think its Alice Temperley

Well then, here are some Temperley London dresses to whet the appetite:

As you guys can see, the dresses are simple and elegant with a slimline silhouette and a lot of attention to the flow and draping of the fabric. The designs, in my opinion, are in keeping with the whole tone of the wedding (simple but classic) and also suit Kate's figure and her taste in clothing. I think she might be a good pick.
And remember, Kate did wear Temperley on her first official engagement with William, so that could have been a subliminal message. Or maybe not..... :teehee:

The Ellie Saab and Reem Accra gowns are gorgeous, in my opinion. :hearts:

Good choices again Alixxx!   I am not seeing a Temperley dress making the cut for a royal affair.  Very nice silouettes but I picture them for a beach low key wedding rather than a Westminster Abbey wedding.  They are very similar to what Carolyn Besette Kennedy chose for her wedding, but they got married on a small island close to the beach and not in a huge church wedding.

I know what you mean and I agree. I guess it depends on who's really in control here. If it is Kate and William as everyone says, then I guess she could choose something more to her liking but then again, I doubt it.

I still think Oldfield is a better choice.

Very true.  Every bride should be able to choose her dress, it is just that a venue like Westminster Abbey is quite a powerful image and so if she picks a simple dress ala the Temperley images Alixxx so kindly found, in my humble opinion, the venue and occasion will overpower the brides entrance.  I think you need a statement dress for this and that doesn't mean meringue tulle and train, just something with a little more zing to it than a simple line.

In the latest article it said that Kate has chosen a dress from a shortlist given to her which would suggest the Palace has some control over the dress.

Afterall she has to keep to Royal standards now

Off-topic but interesting:

It was the Queen who came up with the idea of Kate arriving at the Abbey in a car and leaving in a carriage to symbolise her transformation from commoner to Princess and future Queen.

So much for the couple being 'normal' and trying to downgrade. :teehee: These conflicting reports are annoying....

Kate Middleton urged to give an unknown designer a break

I don't think this article has been posted yet - but I am starting to get confused!

Everyone wants to know who will make her wedding dress, although I think its her (couples) wish to keep it a secret until April 29.

And is it possible she may choose the designer from a commonwealth? Like Romona Keveza, Canadian.

yvonne york insists the designer is a "little-known british designer" and - new hint-  a "young woman"!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/yvonne-yorke/royal-wedding-update-the-_b_815786.html

yvonne says it is NOT oldfield.

yvonne seems very sure of her information.

mind you, yvonne also reported the queen was "livid" about the wedding plans, so take the article as just another article albeit written with great certainty.

I have a suspension that there will be many false leads in regards to the dress. The press might get some details right, but I don't think they will pin down the dress designer.

'Official unofficial leaks' are released on a daily basis to keep the press looking at stuff released in order to point them in the wrong direction altogether. I am told, Buckingham Palace is working on two designs, just in case one by mistake makes it to media.

Windsor are you suggesting BP is involved in the dress design?

^ I don't think so. I think Windsor's post suggests BP is facilitating the making of two dresses in order to prevent leaks rather than being hands on with the actual look.

Of course, I could be dead wrong. Please let me know if I am Windsor. :P I am curious about that post as well.

He could be making something just not necessarily the wedding dress.

I'm starting to think Oldfield really is a red herring, CoH. The Middletons going to the shop also seems to be a diversion tactic. I think Kate knows the comparisons that'll be made between her and Diana should she choose one of Diana's favourite designers, for her wedding dress no less, and will try to avoid that.

Here is a link to the dress I think would look perfect on Catherine.
