Prince Harry to visit Brazil as trade envoy
Prince Harry will visit Brazil for his first trip in his unofficial role as a trade envoy as members of the Royal Family pick up the Duke of York's former role.

Prince Harry will carry out the visit to Rio de Janeiro and the state of Sao Paolo on a trip organised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
He will be supporting the launch of the GREAT campaign designed to foster links between Britain and Brazil in the year of the Olympic Games in London and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Last year, it was announced that other Royals, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, would share the duties of Prince Andrew, who stood down as Britain's trade envoy in July.

He resigned the role after damaging revelations about his friendship with businessman Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
The Duke's position as an envoy was also called into question after a diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks described him as "cocky" and "rude".
Whitehall said Prince Andrew would continue to promote British firms abroad but his role would be divided by several members of the Royal Family.
The Foreign Secretary, William Hague, announced Prince Harry's visit from March 9 to 11 during his own trip to Brazil.
Speaking alongside Sérgio Cabral, Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Mr Hague said: “Brazil and the UK have much in common, with a shared history and close cultural bonds.
"We are committed to strengthening our political, cultural and economic ties, and it is with this in mind that I am visiting Brazil: my first South American trip as Foreign Secretary.
“I am now pleased to announce that His Royal Highness Prince Harry will also soon be here, and will attend the GREAT campaign launch event in March.
"We hope that through this renewed and continued engagement with Brazil to show that we in the UK are open for business with the rest of the world and determined to build our relationships.”
As part of the Royal Family's tour of every Realm during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year, Harry will also visit Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas from March 2 to 8.   http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/prince-harry/9026008/Prince-Harry-to-visit-Brazil-as-trade-envoy.html

The Telegraph claims that Prince Harry and the Cambridge's will be travelling a lot representing the U.K. as Trade Envoys.

The other 3 days in Brazil, during his personal free time, he will meet with various British friends, whom are in his circle, Davina Harbord will be there.

Possibly, but the incident with California Jennifer made him lose a lot of other things the 300 plus days a year in the U.K.   He's in a "Pippo" situation as well, or better yet worse, since Pippa didn't do a California?!  :flower:

I suppose the other 3 days that aren't accounted for as official will be paid by his personal money or the Duchy of Cornwall, whilst I understand his 24/7 tax funded protection officers.

The above practice is done by businessmen when travelling, stretching company travel in destination for their personal use, i.e. rather than coming back home on Friday, stretch it to Saturday and Sunday - paying yourself, some companies charge half the cost of flight ticket if doing so.

People always seem to complain about the taxpayers money...I am sure William, Kate and Harry would not have them around(the paid for protection officers) 24/7 if it was up to them. I don't think they really have that choice though.

How does Harry get to all these places? There have been threads about him going to Spain, Brazil and Nepal in recently days. Unless he can be in three places at once!

He will have his Jubilee tour in Februari and he will be going to Brazil in March , because the Foreign Office asked him. Harry won't be climbing Mount Everest , but will have a supporting role and i read somewhere that it could/would be in May.

He will jet off to Nepal, take a helicopter to one of the 3 camps in Mount Everest.  All this in hope to bring awareness to the charity, hope they make a lot of money, the round trip is quite expensive -- fundraising charity wise.

Katie Nicholl claims Prince Harry will spend his 3 day me time at Pantanal.  That is a very beautiful region in Brazil.  The only soap (TV novela) I have ever watched with the same name (Pantanal) filmed in that area, excellent production and adaptation.

Quote
Prince Harry’s trip to Brazil – his first as an unofficial trade envoy – will include a few days out of the public eye.
Harry, 27, is keen to visit the secluded wetlands of Pantanal in the west of the country during his visit in March.
‘Harry is attracted to Pantanal because of the wildlife and how remote and private it is,’ says a source. ‘He wants to relax after what will be a busy trip.’
The Pantanal region can be accessed only by small aircraft or motorboats. ‘It will be very hard for Harry to be followed,’ adds the source.
