In the field of the media. Yes I understand that Cinrit, thanks. Most people don't have a leg to stand on when complaining about the media, you have to be rich and powerful to stand a chance. Harry is, so he will probably be fine.

You don't have to be an expert to know that when the press prints things that aren't true (in this case, the mayor was quoted as saying things he never said) that you are allowed to take legal action against them.

^^ In the case that we're discussing in this thread, the media claimed that the mayor said something that he did not say.  Therefore, the report by the media was untrue.

How can we be so sure the mayor didn't say that? It's one word against another. I know the story thank you.

^^ Sorry.  But you did ask.  We don't know for sure that the mayor didn't say that.  He claims that he didn't.  Harry wrote to him and gave him the information for putting in a claim.    So it's now been taken care of.  If the mayor didn't say it, he knows where he can register a complaint.  If he did say it, he knows that Harry is aware of what he said and doesn't think highly of the comment.  Matter taken care of in a mature and civilized manner.  Good for Harry!

Here is one that they got wrong, when Amanda Knox was aquitted of murder the daily mail got the verdict wrong (because of the slander) they had quotes from the victims family, quotes from the prosecutor and it said they had been sent back to prison on suicide watch.  All of which where lies.
