There has been so much controversy and negative coverage connected with this project, that I think it is high time to have some facts. I always failed to understand why this wonderful organization receives so much criticism; no charity or fund can be perfect, there will always be problems on every level, however this one seems to be running reasonably well and certainly doesn't deserve all the negative articles.
All the information below is taken from the official website of the Prince of Wales and his family.

You can read details about some of the projects supported by Sentebale here, Below, is just a brief summary of some of them:

The Maluti Hospital crop sharing project - This project has seen the planting of over 80 acres of maize, potatoes, beans and peas to provide food to orphans, other vulnerable children and chronically ill people. "The community response to this project is very high, one village women told me she didn't grow daga this year because she has enough food.
St David's sub-committee, coordinated by Justice and Peace regional office in Maseru - This committee is working to support eight hundred orphans and vulnerable children in Phuthiatsana, Berea. Community members are trained to provide care, support and protection to children, to ensure they can go to school, receive appropriate health care and carry out their own income-generating activities.
The Ha Paki Support Group - In Mazenod the Ha Paki support group has renovated a village centre to provide cooked meals and support to 100 orphans and 50 chronically ill people.
Centre for the poor and less privileged - A pig farming project has been started at the Centre for the poor and less privileged, a children's home at Sakamaneng run by the Sisters of Ottawa. The project will train children on farming skills, improve food supply and generate income.
Lesotho Save the Children - Lesotho Save the Children are receiving funding for a child reunification project.
The Lesotho Youth Federation - The Lesotho Youth Federation is managing a youth behavioural change HIV/AIDS project to train one thousand five hundred young people in HIV/AIDS prevention through youth camps and sports activities in Kokokoaneng (Berea), Mashai (Thaba-Tseka) and Maphutseng (Mohale Hoek).

Some stories of success:

Lerotholi - After the death of his mother, wheelchair bound from muscular dystrophy, 16-year-old Lerotholi lived with his aunt. She abused and neglected him; he was found malnourished, weak and with deep wounds to his head, and was admitted to hospital. When the Department of Social Welfare failed to respond to his case, Sentebale arranged for him to be cared for by one of our partners, St Angela's Home for the Physically Disabled.

Ntoli - Profoundly deaf, unable to speak, and physically disabled, Ntoli was abandoned by her mother. With no one to turn to, this vulnerable young girl was withdrawn, malnourished and neglected. Now cared for at the Thuso Centre for Multiple Disabilities, Ntoli is a different girl. Sentebale ensure she receives full time care with specialist treatment.

Camp 'Mamohato - Boitumelo's Grandmother tells how Camp 'Mamohato has helped him: "I am very happy for the change I noticed to my grandchild since he returned from Camp 'Mamohato. Before he attended Camp he could not talk about his status, he was embarrassed every time when we talked about the virus. He did not like to play with other children before; I think it was because of his status. But now he has made friends and he is teaching other children the new games he learnt from camp. I am so impressed about how you have changed my grandson's life."

Malibuseng Children's Home - An elderly carer was sharing his small, rundown shack with 34 orphaned children. There were just eight dilapidated beds with only worn out blankets for warmth and many children slept on the floor. The roofs leaked and there was no electricity. Working closely with Habitat for Humanity and community partners, Sentebale helped to establish the 'Malibuseng Children's Centre; this is now an organised, transparent, regulated and accountable organisation. The children will live in new secure and fully equipped houses with water and electricity, looked after by housemothers they are able to enjoy more carefree childhoods, protected and in comfort.
They are now going to school and doing well in their exams, they receive regular healthcare and are being carefully monitored by our Child Status Index.
