They will have to be very naive to think their babies can be raised "away from royal spotlight," particularly the eldest who would be King or Queen one day. There are huge celebrations for the birth of the heir or  heiress and no doubt the one destined to be monarch will be celebrated. And of course there would be photo ops. There is also the matter of security--a royal baby would need to have royal protection and nannies. I think it would be very naive to think William and Kate can be "ordinary" parents and Baby Wales would be the "same" as Baby Smith at the base. I somehow think this dream will not happen. Either William and Kate would wait longer to  have their children or when they do, security reasons would prevent the babies being raised on or near a base. Even Princess Elizabeth in the short interval at Malta didn't bring the youngsters along. Charles and Anne spent time with their maternal grandparents and nannies and were left home.
