All Articles & Discussion: Kate's Fashion Choices
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:18:56 PM »
Could Kate wearing fur influence anyone who would not wear fur to begin with?
http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2012/kate-middelton-at-the-center-of-a-fierce-scandal-0222/

The Palace said it is fake fur.

I think I have figured out how to post a link finally.

This is the second time PETA's gone after Kate. :D  If the Palace says it's fake fur, why wouldn't we (or they) believe it?

The article states that they are going after the guy that posted the picture because Kate through her spokespeople has denied it. PETA is calling for the guy to remove the article because it is a lie.  :)

Now, I just have to ask to clarify this.
At first I didn't think she'd be so unintelligent as to wear fur BUT did the queen not wear real fur recently?

Peta is out of hand why didn't they just ask CH for information or the design house regarding the issue of the lining before going after Kate?. As for the fool who posted the photo and claimed the fur lining was real well he should take the offensive post down and apologize maybe give a little charity offering to an animal rights group as a good will gesture. Though not to be overly critical but I have seen Peta activists wearing leather and Ugg boots which are leather or suede and have sheepskin in the lining. Sorry but IMO do not and I repeat do not wear anything made of animal if you support Peta and some of their fanatical campaigns celebrities or Royals who do this are hypocrites, One thing The female members of the RF do not appear to be.

I think the reason that PETA goes after fur in particular is because of the way the animals are killed in order to get the pelts.  But don't get me started on PETA.  They won't admit it unless they're specifically asked, but they do euthanize animals.

Perhaps it was another way of bringing attention to themselves.

I do know the RF have quite a collection of furs which have been put away in storage because of the tide of public opinion which has turned against real fur.  Can't recall the last time the Queen was photographed wearing fur, but it must have been before the 80's.

Me too. Considering how "fashionly powerful" a woman Kate is (whatever she wears it sells out before you know it) I would be happy if she didn't wear fur. It won't prevent those who do wear fur from wearing it but it won't prompt non wearers to start wearing it. Do I make sense? Probably not.

By the way: I was taken aback by this:

Quote
“To state that the Duchess is wearing fur is not only false but offensive. To portray the new Duchess wearing something so blatantly cruel and contrary to her country’s values is insulting.”

Was this written by some Palace's PPRR? It's quite harsh, isn' it? I mean... I totally agree with the good intentions and with the message, but I'd swear I've seen Kate wearing boots and handbags that were definitely not synthetic...

^^ You do make sense, Sidney. :flower:  I believe the reason PETA is especially sensitive about fur is because of the outrageously cruel way the fur is obtained from the animals.

I know, Cindy.  :(  I'm a vegetarian and I never wear fur (or leather, for that matter). I'm very sensitive to this issue.

So true, that's so weird some people have the same view as me...
It's embarracing, but a noteworthy feature shared by both women is that Kate Middleton and Victoria Beckham are terminally thin.
But...why should we expect them to be worlds apart...they are both of a diabolical mediocrity!
Poor Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, direct descendant of William the Conqueror, for having to cope with this unremarkable, banal, vacuous woman!

^Yes, and as far as I can remember, Victoria has always been super slim, wheras Kate used to have a curvier shape when she was at St. Andrews.

This topic has nothing to do with Chelsy.  Chelsy isn't even mentioned in the article.  Please stay on topic.
