I can see his reasoning here. Since the wedding now everyone knows there is money there and if they resent the wealthy they will vandalize. If they are thieves they will see easy pickings. I also feel that Kate could use the time that William is gone for more constructive things to help raise people's views of her. I am afraid her insistence on family over royal duties is going to harm her in the end. Maybe the Middleton's could just move to London then Kate would have easy access to them and still be able to do more than a couple of engagements a month. Maybe I am just used to seeing the older members of the Monarchy putting duty to country first, the lazy way could be the new normal.  :o

Its not Kate's fault she comes from bucklebury. :happy17: Where ever she lived or her parents lives is going to be put on the map :happy17:

She had to come from somewhere. people dint just drop out from the sky :teehee:

And also William is not a full time royal so nither is Kate, so she cant do royal duties 24/7. Your expecting her to do royal duties 24/7 365 days a year 400+ engagements a year, when she is not a full time royal and hasnt even been married a year yet. She is just starting out and learning.

If she did 100000000000000000000000 engagements a year people would still not be happy with that :happy17:

HRHHannah you are purposely misinterpreting my post. The wedding did in fact bring a lot of extra attention to her home town. Since London is already on the map and has been for centuries, London is also where Royalty spend a fair amount of time in my opinion it would be a better place to live for them. I bet their neighbors are starting to agree with me. No one expects her to do royal duties 24/7/365 but I do think she should be able to cover more than a couple a month. This is the life Kate CHOSE she should get on with it. Not a full time royal does that mean that part of the time she gives up security doesn't have a royal apartment and gives up all the perks. William has been a full time royal since the day he was born. Unless you are talking of fulfilling their duty to country then you would be right because they are both pretty good at shirking those duties.  :hmm:

If Kate wants to spend the majority of her time with her parents wouldn't it be easier for them to live in London. I bet she could even get them the apartment next to her and William, then they could have coffee every morning. When the neighbors get tired of it they will help them want to move. Their neighbors did not ask for all the publicity and to have their lives disrupted either. Do they not also have rights.  :ugh: Can we not just agree to disagree and let it go at that.

There is crime everywhere.  In some neighborhoods, there has been crime as long as anyone can remember.  In other neighborhoods, crime sprouts up for one reason or another.  Life happens.  To put the blame on someone who happens to be from that neighborhood is ridiculous.  The fact that Kate lived in that particular village may have (did) bring attention to it ..... and oh, how those residents were happy about it a year ago!  But blaming Kate for a crime spree that's happening there now?  Please. :blank:

I agree that the town of Bucklebury got worldwide notoriety because of Catherine.  And its good to know the community is taking the right steps reinforcing security.

I suppose the Middletons could move to London, but isn't their business set up in Bucklebury?

Besides, they do have a small place in London, for when they have to be there.
