Princess Maxima visits Buurtlab Foundation in Rotterdam

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands has visited Rotterdam, where the Princess has carried out several engagements in relation to the Buurtlab Foundation.

The Princess reviewed several key aspects of the work carried out by the foundation, she was accompanied by children who helped the Princess review the work which has helped many disadvantage members of society.

The Buurtlad Foundation works to promote a fairer society, and helps bring about improved living standards for poorer neighbourhoods in the Netherlands, and has a special focus on children between the ages of 7 and 12.

Her Royal Highness was able to see how the Foundation has taken advantage of being able to closely work with the Orange Fund. During her visit, Princess Maxima was able to hold talks with board members in regards to the methods used, Her Royal Highness was in particular interested in how the Foundation will develop over the next few years.

The Buurtlab Foundation has been receiving direct funds from the Orange Fund since early 2010.
