Spain celebrates National Day

Today, Spain celebrated their National Day with a traditional military parade which ran from the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V and the Plaza de Colón and involved more than 3,000 troops, 147 vehicles and 55 fighter jets of the Armed Forces. This parade was followed by a reception at the Royal Palace, where this awkward family photo was taken.

Spanish King's health a growning concern

Wikimedia CommonsConcerns over the health of Spain's 73 year old King, Juan Carlos, has increased in recent weeks. King Juan Carlos recently attended a literary award ceremony looking pale, and using a cane to walk with. A few weeks earlier, the King missed the traditional Easter mass at Palma de Majorca cathedral for the first time. The official reports state that he needed to prepare for the visit of Qatar's emir, however rumors that he was ill made headlines.

Where are the royals?

British Coat of ArmsWith upwards of 40 foreign royals descending on London this weekend for the Royal Wedding, lets take a look at who will be here, and where they will be staying. Keep in mind that Queen Elizabeth's cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson is hosting a pre-wedding dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hyde Park for the British and foreign royals and some selected weddings guests. While many royals have been spotted entering that hotel, we cannot be sure if they are arriving for the dinner, or will be staying there as well.
