Royal lunch at the Berkeley
The Duchess of Cornwall and Catherine Middleton have been seen at The Berkeley, the exclusive five-star hotel in Knightsbridge, London.
A lunch for two future Queens? Such a tempting headline will probably make it into tomorrows tabloid newspapers.
Although the official version has always been that the Duchess of Cornwall will be Princess Consort when Prince Charles becomes King, it seems that Queen Camilla is becoming a strong possibility. The Prince of Wales said “that could be” when an American TV interviewer raised the subject during a short interview in Castle of Mey in Scotland. And now yesterday the Duchess of Cornwall was asked by an eight year old girl. “Are young going to be Queen one day?” and the Duchess replied. “We’ll see, won’t we,”
One can almost certainly assume the gathering at the Berkley was a way of showing close support for the newest member of ‘The Firm’ – close contact support from those who are in the workings of Monarchy is an ideal solution for those marrying into the Royal Family.
We understand Catherine Middleton has also been in contact with other members of the Royal Family, including the Countess of Wessex and Her Majesty the Queen.
